Thank you for supporting DayOneNetwork. At this time, we need your help. In an effort to stop cuts to our funding, please contact our legislators and urge them to do the following:

1. Governor Quinn at 217-782-0244 or via email at contactquinn@illinois.gov:
- Call the Legislature back immediately, rather than waiting;
- Extend the FY 09 budget until September 1st to give legislators enough time to reach a well thought out resolution.
- If a tax increase must be passed to keep these services, there should be a commitment by Government to use the tax revenue to provide community services.

2. Senate President John Cullerton at 773-883-0770 or by email at either Kathryn@senatorcullerton.com or john@senatorcullerton.com and House Speaker Michael Madigan (by phone at 773-581-8000)
- Make the same points stated above. These cuts are forcing human service agencies to lay people off and turn people away from care.
- A continuing budget resolution needs to be passed before July 14th.
- If a tax increase is passed that there be a commitment by Government to appropriate revenue to community services.

3. Minority Leader Christine Radogno (630-243-0800 or cradogno@sbcglobal.net) and House Minority Leader Tom Cross (815-254-0000 or t@tomcross.com:
- Allowing this situation to continue gives the impression that Republicans are not sensitive to the impact the budget cuts are having on the most vulnerable citizens of our community-the mentally ill, developmentally disabled, seniors, children, physically disabled and substance abusers.
- Stress that these cuts will inflict substantial harm; costing the state more money as these people will end up uninsured in the emergency rooms and county jails or may become homeless.
