BRIEF HISTORY

Child and Family Connections of Kane and Kendall counties (CFC 4) is one of 25 Child and Family Connections offices throughout the State of Illinois. CFC’s are grant funded agencies under contract to the Department of Human Services Bureau of Early Intervention to administer the Illinois Early Intervention program. Our Child and Family Connections office serves as the point of entry for the State’s Early Intervention program in Kane and Kendall counties.

The Early Intervention system in Illinois is a collection of services for infants and toddlers who have delays in development or are likely to have delays. Early Intervention builds upon the natural learning occurring in a child’s first few years.

Early Intervention may:

  • Help answer your questions about your child’s development.
  • Improve both developmental and educational growth.
  • Help children with developmental delays become more independent.
  • Help prevent or lessen the need for more intervention in the future and reduce cost.
